Top dietitians and nutritionists compiled their list of the 30 healthiest foods, and there may be little surprise from VegOnline fans: Nearly all of the foods are vegetarian, and are in fact largely vegan. The vegetarian exemptions are sardines, wild salmon, and chicken breast, all of which are foods that some vegetarians might consider eating or adding to their diet as a flexitarian. Take away milk, yogurt, and eggs, and the other 80 percent of ingredients are vegan. As if further proof was necessary, the top diet choices remain mostly fruits and vegetables. Notice the significant lack of red meat:
